PASO Colombia in 2019 Concordia Americas Summit

Jon Bellish, the acting COO of One Earth Future, and a delegation from its programs PASO Colombia and Shared Resources, led by its national directors, participated in the 2019 Concordia Americas Summit in Bogotá. This summit is an international platform through which to address immediate humanitarian, economic, and political issues facing the Western Hemisphere through the lens of cross-sector collaboration.

Juan Fernando Lucio led a table in the Concordia Partnership Accelerator: Innovative Financing for Impact in Latin America. The subject of this table was the Social & Economic Integration of Venezuelan Migrants, highlighting PASO's intervention in Saravena through a Rural Alternative School (ERA) designed to leverage agricultural education and market development to produce food and create jobs for Venezuelan migrants, victims of the Colombian armed conflict and ex-combatants. The agreement with the Municipality of Saravena to launch this ERA was also signed during this summit.

Jon Bellish and the PASO team engaged with multiple national and international stakeholders interested in partnering with PASO in its Rural Alternative Schools (ERAs) model throughout the Colombian territory.
